A new issue of "Clinical Psychology and Special Education" journal 2024 no. 2 has been published.

The special theme of this issue is "Stress and depression: diagnosis, course, treatment". The thematic section with the same name contains both theoretical and practical works by Russian and foreign authors. The articles included in this section cover a wide range of topics related to different stressful situations and ways of coping with them; methods of diagnosing stress-related conditions and their symptoms; causes and mechanisms of depression, as well as specific approaches to its treatment.

An equally important and interesting topic is touched on in the empirical studies of the second part of this issue — the search for additional markers of mental states. Thus, the diagnostic capabilities of analyzing speech production in patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders are explored. The psychophysiological indicators of experiencing difficult situations have been studied through the example of internal illness pictures and features of cardiovascular regulation.

New methods for diagnosing stressful conditions and coping with difficult life situations have also been presented, all designed for children. These include the Scale of Perceived Stress for Children (6-8 years), the Uncertainty Response Scale for Adolescents (12-18), and the Proactive Attitudes Scale for Adolescents (11-15).

The issue concludes with a report on the meeting of representatives of the community of fairy tale therapists, held on June 26, 2024. During this event, the possibilities of using fairy tale therapy to solve various social and cultural issues were highlighted.
