On October 5, 2026, with the support of the Boiling Point of the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education, the “Co-Author Reading” Readers’ Club, part of the “Science in Publications” series, will hold a meeting titled “Cognitive Stimulation Therapy Beyond Dementia: A New Perspective on Supporting Cognitive Health in Older Age.” The meeting will take the form of a conversation with the authors of the research article “Applicability of Cognitive Stimulation Therapy in Normal Aging: A Pilot Study” (2026), which continues a line of research exploring the applicability of the Cognitive Stimulation Therapy program in various settings providing psychological support to older adults in Russia.
During the meeting, participants will learn about the results of an assessment of the program’s applicability and adaptation for older adults experiencing normal aging. The study was conducted as part of the “Gymnastics for the Mind” program of the “Moscow Longevity” project. The speakers will present the key findings of a pilot study on adapting this method for older adults without cognitive decline, discuss the effectiveness of the program when delivered as a leisure activity, and share practical aspects of its implementation.

The following questions will be discussed during the meeting:
- How do older adults experiencing normal aging who participate in the CST program assess its effectiveness and their satisfaction with the sessions?
- What effect does the CST program have on the cognitive functions and quality of life of older adults experiencing normal aging?
- What changes could be made to the CST program to optimize it for older adults experiencing normal aging?
At the end of the meeting, participants will be able to discuss prospects for the further adaptation and scaling up of the CST program for older adults experiencing normal aging, as well as opportunities to integrate the method into various leisure and social projects.
