Abstract

This is a detailed review of the book by R.Ye. Levina Speech and Writing Disorders in Children. The book includes theoretical and empirical works of R.Ye. Levina that were written at different times. In these works she discusses the main problems existing in logopedics, as well as the problems of psychological and pedagogical examination and support of stammering people. The subject and functions of autonomous speech, the nature of speech, writing and reading difficulties are also discussed. R. Ye . Levina speaks of the inner connection between a child's speech and personality. She was a faithful student and a talented follower of L.S. Vygotsky.
