In Search of the New Science: Pscyhoculturology?

The article seeks the solutions of different research problems in the spheres of artistic and scientific creativity, authorship and art mastery in their historical, psychological and culturological aspects. The author argues that the “search of the new science” is conditioned with the demand for more precise understanding of the issues of inner creativity, imagination and creative thinking. The starting point of the article is the exact terminological definition that proves the relevancy of introduction of the “psychoculturology” concept. The article outlines polemics on artistic and psychological issues of creativity studies in different approaches of psychology. It deals with sign-mediated nature of cultural and psychological creative acts in connection with general history as well as an author’s personal history, concrete and abstract acquisition of poetics and methods of different branches of art and culture; proposes methodological requirements for chronotope research in works of art and analysis of civilizational preconditions. The author attempts to justify the possibility of complex, almost eclectic, analysis of any work of art from the standpoints of the phenomena of intuition, surmise and insight.
