Abstract

In this paper we study the direction and forms of cultural-historical psychology development in the first half of the 20th century. The fundamental differences between Western and Soviet cultural-historical psychology were addressed. On the example of A. Adler's works the cultural-historical features of Western psychology are discussed and we demonstrate that its development was taking place within the development of the overall framework of the new psychotechnique culture. We conclude that in the modern psychological culture at least three layers or forms of cultural-historical psychology exist, and there is a need of their realization and integration within the new methodology of cultural-historical psychology.
