On the destiny of psychological practices, cultural contexts and the desemantisation trial

624

Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of psychological practices, particularly group and family ones, seen in the context of the dynamics of the cultural situation emerging at the turn of the centuries. The processes of desemantisation observed in different spheres of cultural practice that are usually associated with the mass consciousness phenomenon are considered in their application to the “extensive reproduction of the psychological practices”. The analysis of these processes undertaken in a larger context allows a new perspective upon the history of psychotherapy and its place in the “personality-culture” system.
