2399

Abstract

Art therapy is considered in the context of the emerging new phenomenon of complex human study, such as visual anthropology. The specific characteristics and goals of visual anthropology as one of the ways to study the human being have been explored. Possibilities of supplementing cultural studies in visual anthropology with its use with therapeutic and preventive, educational and developmental goals related to individuals, groups and communities have been discussed. New research methods related to art therapy and based on the use of arts (arts based research) have been considered. Some avenues to develop visual anthropology in clinical and social art therapy milieu have been presented.
