Abstract

The present study was carried out in line with the traditional domestic psychosomatic representations about the internal picture of the disease. The sample included 62 patients in the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery. With the help of a battery of techniques, substantially complementary, identified qualitative and quantitative features of the internal picture of the disease (WKB) in patients, male and female. It was found that barrier personal meaning of illness comes to the fore in the whole sample, but men are distinguished distrustful, cautious attitude to the recommendations of doctors and the whole treatment. Found significant sex differences of value orientations and strategies of coping behavior, which it is advisable to take into account when designing programs of psychological support of this group of patients in a hospital.
