Abstract

Context and relevance. Modern researchers note the growing relevance of the problem of finding resources to ensure human psychological safety due to the increase in risks and threats in the socio-cultural situation. Objective: to determine and analyze the specifics of goal-setting in senior school students with different levels of personal psychological safety. Hypothesis. Goal-setting components can act as both resources and risks for the psychological safety of the students' personality. Methods and materials. The study involved 9th-grade students (N = 43) of a general education organization in the Moscow region, aged 15 to 16 years. The following were used: Express Diagnostics of Personal Psychological Safety by I.I. Prikhodko, Life-Meaning Orientation Test (LMO), adapted by D.A. Leontiev, Questionnaire of 10 Life Goals by N.E. Kharlamenkova, Brief Version of the Aspiration Index Questionnaire, adapted by T.O. Gordeeva, O.A. Sychev, Methodology of “Style of self-regulation of behavior” by V.I. Morosanova. Results. It was revealed that regardless of the level of psychological safety of the individual students, the components of goal setting are resources of psychological safety of the individual at the semantic level. The components of goal setting at the target and operational levels act as both resources and risks of psychological safety of the individual. Conclusions. The results of the study expand the understanding of goal setting not only as a resource, but also as a risk of psychological safety of the individual. Educational psychologists are recommended to identify risks of psychological safety of the individual in students and to provide targeted psychological assistance in a timely manner.
