Psychosocial characteristics of football (soccer) fans as the subjects of globalization community

Abstract

This paper is dedicated to the study of the socio-psychological traits of a personality of a particular community, in such a social movement as that of football fans that constitutes, from our point of view, one type of global community. In the course of empirical research the researchers carried out a comparative analysis of the experimental (football fans) and control groups on indicators of: intellectual level, adaptive capacity, characteristics of interpersonal relationships, level of aggression and latent extremism, whose results show a statistically significant differences in all these parameters between the two study groups. The representatives of the subculture of football fans are characterized by: medium to low levels of nonverbal intelligence, poor family relations, a tendency toward passivity and dependency in interpersonal interaction, along with hostility and aggression, the inability to manage their feelings, social tension and contentiousness.
