Approbation of standard measures of emotional pictures from IAPS system on Russian sample

Results of primary approbation of standard emotional pictures from IAPS system on a Russian sample are presented. In the first stage, pictures from IAPS system which are most significant and natural for a Russian sample were detected. In the second stage, estimates of Valence and Arousal for IAPS pictures on a Russian sample were collected. Comparison of Valence and Arousal estimates between Russian and American samples revealed significant differences. Thus, cultural specificity of Valence and Arousal estimates for IAPS pictures was demonstrated.
