Abstract

At the beginning of the XX century we can observe a gradual depreciation of Christian fraternal life in Vitebshhina. We take into consideration external factors connected with social and political situation in the country and internal reasons of the crisis on the example of the educational activity of Saint-Vladimir diocesan fellowship of Vitebsk. Levers of church education of that time were readings and conversations out of church services, material help to schools, opening of libraries, publishing activity, distribution of literature and religious objects and so on.
