Christening of Rus as a major factor of formation of Russian nation

Abstract

This article is devoted to the philosophical study of the effect of baptism and the Christianization of Rus in the process of formation of the Russian nation. For the formation of Russian people there was the main religious unity that emerged only after the baptism of Rus. The article emphasizes that the Russian and Belorussians are represented as the branches of a single nation. By force of circumstances they have lived a long time in different nations.
