Principles of construction of the lexico-semantic field “theatre”

Context and relevance. In modern linguistics there is a tendency of closer attention towards the problems of lexico-semantic structure of the Russian language. Over the decades, the backgrounds were appearing and field researches within language as a system were actively developing. As a result, the notion “lexico-semantic field” was established in order to research the whole system of lexical units and word-combinations with similar semantic structure in the definite language. The relevance of the present research is based, first of all, on the significance of systematic description of lexis of the definite language from the point of view of language system, the necessity to combine lexical units of a language within the unique lexico-semantic field, as well as absence of strict principles and methods of construction of lexico-semantic field “theatre” in modern science, in spite of active research of the analyzing notion. Objective. To define the structure of lexico-semantic field “theatre” from the point of view of the modern Russian language with the help of the principles of construction of lexico-semantics fields revealed in the research. Hypothesis. While using the strict sequence of principles of construction of lexico-semantic field, it is possible to build the whole field “theatre” on the basis of different lexicographic resources of the Russian language. Methods and materials. The methods of the research are the following: method of analysis and synthesis, method of morphemic analysis, method of componential analysis, method of word reconstruction, distributive analysis. The materials of the research are etymological, definition, synonymic, antonymic, thesaurus, associative, phraseological dictionaries of the Russian language. Results. In the process of complex analysis and synthesis of scientific literature and interpretation of lexicographical data, the structure of lexico-semantic field “theatre” is defined and explained which is typical for the modern Russian language. Conclusions. The present research helped to draw a conclusion about only partial and incomplete reflection of the structure of lexico-semantic field “theatre” in the qualitative lexicographical resources, absence of a strict structure of its components, as well as the fact that the elements of the field expressed in the dictionaries often mismatch the modern tendencies and state of the language. The research helped to fill the gaps in lexicographical resources and by means of the synthesis of its data to construct lexico-semantic field “theatre”.
