The authors analyze various approaches to studying the aging process (D.B. Bromley, O.N. Molchanova, Baltes P.B., Cole M., Hasher L., etc.). It has been shown that research in the field of psychology of old age has an objective scientific significance, which is to establish the relationship between biological and psychological factors of development throughout the entire life path of a person.
