The Reform of the Initial General Education: a Step Forward or Backward?

Abstract

The article is devoted to discussion of the Project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation «About priority directions of educational system development of the Russian Federation» (2004) in the part which concerns introduction of «preschool education» of children (a null class) at the age of 5–6. The article cites the data on features of American children development and training, who start school at 5.
