The Psychological Content of Common Notions of Emotions and Will

The article addresses the problem of effective interaction between different pecialists and between the psychological service specialists in particular. To solve problems successfully, psychologists need to communicate with teachers, parents, social orkers and others. Basing on the fact that understanding each other is a necessary condition for effective interaction, the author conducts an empirical verification of common notions of will and defines the adjectives most commonly used for describing a strongwilled and a weak-willed person. The results of factor analysis show the presence of emotional component in common notions of will. The author developed a questionnaire for detecting personality volitional characteristics. The validization procedure demonstrated compatibility of common notions structurized by factor analysis with theoretical understanding of will regulation. The results of research roved that it is logically grounded to include common notions of will in the system of psychological concepts.
