Abstract

Article discusses the problems of sibling experience of a developing personality. This experience on the one hand, fundamentally affects the course of person’s life on almost all stages of the ontogenetic formation, and on the other – is clearly not enough taken into account by applied psychologists, including school psychologists. An analysis of the accumulated material in the world psychology is presented that describes particularities of the sibling positions in terms of their impact on the system of interpersonal relations in the family and siblings’ interaction with their reference environment. Particular attention is paid to the parental attitude impact on the sibling’s experience. The features of sibling substructures in a holistic family structure are demonstrated. The main characteristics of productive and unproductive parental influence on sibling subsystem of the family are defined. Specific examples from the socio-psychological counseling are provided.
