Abstract

This article discusses mental phenomena and personality characteristics of patients with disorders of static-dynamic functions, which play a significant role in their rehabilitation. The results of a comparative study of the internal picture of the disease, time perspective and hardiness among adolescents and youth with congenital and acquired disorders of the static-dynamic functions: with cerebral palsy (CP) and with traumatic disease of the spinal cord (TDSC). The study identified the psychological differences between people with congenital and acquired disorders of the static-dynamic functions. The observed features are due to both the social situation of development of the child with cerebral palsy and the influence of the changed living conditions after the trauma on the personality. The article also discusses the specific premorbid personality of patients with TDSC. The existence of these differences raises the question of the need to design and implement differentiated programs of psychosocial rehabilitation for patients with two similar groups of neurological symptoms.
