The role of genuine emotions in the emotional security of the educational environment

Abstract

We provide a criterion for the estimation of emotional security of the educational environment: minimization of negative emotions and increasing the amount of positive emotions. We reveal the two components of emotional security: the level of negative emotions (the indicators are emotions of fear, anxiety) and the level of positive emotions (the indicator is emotion of joy). As genuine emotions, we consider those causing significant physiological changes in the body, relative to conventional, which mainly occur at the level of psychological feelings. We substantiate the role of genuine emotion in ensuring physical and mental health. We examine the relationship of genuine negative emotions with the emergence of psychosomatic diseases in the future, and, conversely, health improvement while experiencing genuine positive emotions. We show that genuine negative emotions can arise when experiencing anxiety during exams, and genuine positive emotions – in educational environment enriched with activities that contribute to the implementation of creative and intellectual realization of personality.
