Modern Research on Interrelation of Cognitive and Kinetic Aspects of Writing

1892

Abstract

The review reflects modern research on formation of kinetic aspects of writing in light of general cognitive, psycho-motor and motor development of children, both normal and in case of developmental disorders. The research methods and strategies are discussed: correlational studies, longitudinal studies, comparative analysis of a norm and developmental disorders. Indexes of mental and motor development that are most actively used by researches of writing, as well as main areas in writing research in the context of cognitive and kinetic development and research results are presented. Factors that significantly influence writing’s speed and qualitative characteristics are described. Background of successful and non-successful writing mastering is analyzed. The input of cognitive and kinetic components in writing mastering and actualization is discussed.
