Abstract

The contribution examines the questions of using mathematical modeling in making management decisions. The aim of the research was to develop the basics of information support of making management decisions through the use of mathematical modeling. Indices which are informational modules of decision making support were identified. The state of the environment was taken as the subject of the research. Basing on statistical data on forest fires in Russia, a model of time series was developed. Point and interval predictions of the number of forest fires were received through the use of this model. A method of using mathematical models for performing information support of decision making is presented.
