Psychological research in sexological expertise of persons accused of sexual offences

Abstract

The contribution analyzes the possibilities of focused psychological research of the sexual sphere which are actualized in the course of expert clinical and psychological examination of sexual offenders. It presents the results of original studies which allow taking into account specific phenomena related to the motivational and need-related sphere, sexual conscience, and peculiarities of perception of the object of sexual preference among sexual offenders in the course of evaluation of regulative and prognostic potential of these structures. It also analyzes the expert and diagnostic importance of a number of phenomena as well as their significance for evaluation of regulative potential in criminal situation. The author identifies the parameters which reflect the structure of changes in sexual conscience of persons with attraction anomalies as well as parameters which take part in the regulation of sexual behavior on different stages of realization of sexual behavior. The contribution analyzes the psychological mechanisms which ensure the regulation and control of the abnormal need in different cases of anomaly of sexual attraction. The presented data can prove interesting for those specialists who take part in complex psychological sexological and psychiatric examinations of persons accused of sexual offences.
