Attitudes towards micro- and macrosocium in educators with different gravity of psychological burnout

Abstract

The article describes the research aimed at investigation of psychological burnout symptoms and attitudes towards micro and macrosocium in educators in different severity of the burnout. The research hypothesis was that with the increase in psychological burnout level the impact of stress factors aggravates emotional, motivational, cognitive, behavioral and psychosomatic symptoms as well as a professional’s negative attitude towards micro and macrosocium and his/her profession in general. The sample included 155 educators from secondary schools: 112 women and 43 men aged from 22 to 70 years old. The methods included observation, interview, author’s questionnaire of psychological burnout symptoms, MBI questionnaire by K. Maslach and S. Jackson modified for educators and teachers by N.E. Vodopyanova. The research revealed that the increase in psychological burnout level the impact of stress factors aggravates emotional, motivational, cognitive, behavioral and psychosomatic symptoms. The educators with higher levels of psychological burnout demonstrate more negative attitude towards the profession and work environment, microsocium (students and colleagues) and macrosocium (social strata and public institutes).
