Abstract

Aggression management is becoming increasingly important task in modern society, as the number of situations that provoke aggression increases. Particular attention should be paid to aggression in adolescence. The world economic crisis contributes to the increase in the level of aggressiveness. The incidence of auto-aggression also increases. Suppressed aggression leads to the development of psychosomatic disorders. Experts agree that aggression is bad, but just suppressing aggressive reactions is also bad. Therefore, of special importance are the studies, which raises the question of the existence of internal psychological factors influencing the reduction of aggression among adolescents. The aim of the study was to identify the external and internal (psychological) factors deterring aggression. We hypotesized that deterring aggression is a strategy of coping with life's difficulties, and there are external and internal (psychological) factors of deterring aggression. The study involved 22 adolescents aged 15 to 17 years, 11 boys and 11 girls. The main methods used were aimed at identifying the level of aggression, revealing the coping strategies and the psychological defenses. The study found a positive correlation between the prevalence of extrapunitive reactions and IES-scale «invasion» indicator, which in the context of our study, shows a rather strong traumatic effect of aggression.
