Discussing the law on psychological assistance: directions and types of activities of a psychologist (Part 2)
Abstract
Context and relevance. This article is the second part of a study devoted to discussing several versions of draft legislation regulating psychological assistance and psychological activities in the Russian Federation (the Law «On the Fundamentals of Regulating Psychological Activities in the Russian Federation»). The authors continue to discuss and reveal the types of activities performed by psychologists in the process of providing psychological assistance. Objective. Discussion and description of additional types of professional activities of psychologists. Methods and materials. The work used methods of conceptual analysis and generalisation, document analysis, and a systematic approach to understanding the professional activities of psychologists. Results. The authors discuss such types of activities as: consultation, dispatching, methodological activities, research activities, organisational and managerial activities, monitoring, mental hygiene, psychological support, conflict resolution, psychological intervision, psychological support, professional selection (recruitment), consulting, and design. Conclusions. Not all of the activities discussed in the article can and should be included in the draft law on psychological assistance or psychological activities, but the authors believe that their consideration and preliminary analysis should be a mandatory process in the development of the draft law.
