Abstract
Context and relevance. This paper examines the psychological characteristics of victimization behavior of victims of fraudulent deception: their value orientations and leading coping strategies, as well as psychological characteristics of those who did not become victims of fraud, their differences. Methods and materials. The study sample consisted of 40 people aged 21-44 years old. The main tools of the study were used: the author's questionnaire for the purpose of collecting background data on the subjects; Schwartz value orientation questionnaire; SORE coping strategies questionnaire (adapted by P.A. Ivanov, N.G. Garanian). Results. The results of the study showed that for victims of telephone fraud with a tendency to a hypersocial form of victimization behavior implementation, values related to the well-being of surrounding people, tolerance and understanding of others are more significant. It was found that most often victims of telephone fraud with a tendency to non-critical form of victimization behavior use active coping to solve stressful situations. The study also proved that victims of phone scams are less likely to use planning, thinking through the steps, necessary actions to solve the problem, unlike those who were not victimized in a phone scam situation. Conclusions. In the course of the study, psychological features and peculiarities of victimization behavior of victims of deception (telephone) fraudsters were revealed. The results of this work can be used to develop measures to prevent victimization behavior among the population, as well as in the investigative process in the investigation of criminal cases.
