Addictive personality attitude as an integrative feature of drug-addicted convicts determining their personal and behavioral characteristics in places of imprisonment

Context and relevance. The relevance of the chosen topic is due to the significance of studying the addictive personality attitude of drug-addicted convicts and its influence on their personal and behavioral characteristics. Objective. The goal is to identify the impact of addictive personality traits on the personal and behavioral characteristics of drug-addicted convicts. Methods and materials. The empirical study was conducted on the basis of correctional facilities of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Udmurt Republic. The study involved 224 drug-addicted convicts. Personal and behavioral characteristics were assessed using the following psychodiagnostic tools: " Method for studying life sense orientations" (D.A. Leontiev); "Scale of addictive attitudes" (R. Mcmalin, P. Geilhar); questionnaire "Life Style Index" (R. Plutchik, G. Kellerman, G. Conte); questionnaire "Propensity to search for sensations" (M. Zuckerman); "Questionnaire of coping methods" (T.L. Kryukova, E.V. Kuftyak); " Method of self-attitude research" (V.V. Stolin, S.R. Pantileev); " Method of character accentuation research" (G. Shmishek); questionnaire "Level of subjective control" (E.F. Bazhin et al.). Results. The structure of the addictive personality attitude of drug-addicted convicts was established, and significant interrelations of the personal and behavioral elements of the structural components of the addictive personality attitude were revealed. Conclusions. Drug-addicted convicts have an addictive personality trait as an integrative personality feature, which is a set of addictively conditioned personality and behavioral characteristics that determines the unconscious readiness to use drugs and initiates certain (aimed at obtaining strong emotional sensations) types of behavior in drug-addicted convicts in places of detention.
