Intellectual Abilities in Manager's Success: Correlation between Results of Ability Tests and Assessment Centres

Abstract

The article fulfills the following tasks: firstly, it describes and analyses results of an empirical research on the correlation between the level of managers' intellectual abilities and their success; secondly, it provides an overview of how this subject matter is elaborated in Russian and foreign social psychological science. The data obtained in the research shows that managers with low intellectual ability are likely to be less successful in their professional activity, while persons with high intellectual ability do not always have a competitive advantage over the ones with medium-high levels of intellectual development.
