Abstract

The paper reviews and discusses the data obtained in the studies on the problem of cognitive egocentrism, related concepts and their role in social perception and communication. While describing certain specific features of egocentrism that affect the efficiency of one's interaction with other people, the paper employs some terms and concepts developed in Western psychological and educational works that are little used in Russian research.
