The Risks of the Internetas a Communication Field for Adolescents and Middle-Aged People in Comparison



The Internet significantly affects the information and communication process. Virtual media and social networks play an important role in informing society. The information society needs to master the skill of not only competent creation and dissemination of information, but also its consumption. When consuming information from social networks, the audience faces a number of ethical problems. The field of communication of modern adolescents has moved to the Internet, just as middle-aged people also actively participate in the process of virtual communication. The study analyzes the impact of social networks on adolescents and middle-aged people; the most popular social networks among adolescents and their parents are determined, the level of awareness of safe behavior in social networks of adolescents and their parents is assessed; it is determined how much middle-aged people are exposed to the influence of social networks, how much time they spend on the Internet in comparison with adolescents. It also identifies the positive aspects and risks of using social networks by the respondents, to what extent the survey participants are informed about the risks of communicating in the Internet environment, and provides advice from respondents on Internet security.
