Possibilities of Digital Technologies as a Tool and Means of Forming Schoolchildren's Spelling Literacy

Abstract

The report presents an analysis of digital technologies that a Russian language teacher can use as a means and tool for the formation of spelling literacy of schoolchildren: multimedia presentations; Internet sites supporting the study of the Russian language; educational platforms NES, YaKlass; virtual whiteboards; educational web-services LearningApps, WordWall, etc. It has been established that these electronic educational resources can be used at each stage of the Russian language lesson when studying spelling. The authors prove the need to use digital technologies in the educational process, as this meets the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of LLC, the Approximate Work Program of LLC (grades 5-9) in the Russian language, and the implementation of the federal project "Digital Educational Environment". The analysis of modern Russian language textbooks recommended for use at school showed that they contain very few exercises aimed at developing spelling vigilance, which leads to a decrease in spelling literacy in general. It is concluded that the use of the didactic capabilities of digital technologies is one of the effective means of improving the literacy of schoolchildren, but subject to the combination of digital technologies with traditional teaching aids. The authors draw attention to the need to develop the literacy of schoolchildren not only when writing written works in Russian language lessons, but also when communicating in a digital environment.
