Personal Maturity of Students Depending on Activity in the Internet

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the personal maturity of students depending on their activity in the Internet environment. Most students are susceptible to the negative impact of the Internet environment: they tend to overestimate the importance of virtual space in their lives, have inflated value and semantic ideas about virtual space, and are prone to loss of control over time and compulsive actions of visiting virtual space. There are often cases when young people lead a parallel secret life on the Internet, different from reality, or even completely go into virtual life, abandoning reality. In this paper, the author describes the results of an empirical study of the level of personal maturity of students, the nature of their activity in the Internet environment, and also presents the results of a study of the value-semantic sphere of students in the virtual space. As a scientific substantiation of the conclusions made by the author, statistically significant results of correlation and regression analysis are presented.
