ChatGPT in the Work of Educators: Opportunities and Risks of Using

Abstract

The article notes the accelerated pace of digitalization and the rapid change of some technologies by others.  The potential of using ChatGPT in the educational process of higher education is described. The necessity of a rational assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of this tool, as well as its impact on the development of the educational industry, is indicated. A SWOT analysis is presented, which reflects the strengths and weaknesses of using ChatGPT in the professional activity of educators, and also highlights the opportunities and risks caused by the introduction of generative neural networks into the educational process. To systematize them, the authors present the results of the analysis of domestic and foreign studies on the work of ChatGPT and its use by educators. The authors conclude that the use of ChatGPT and other generative neural networks leads to inevitable transformations of the educational process and the role of the teacher in it. The main development strategy is to stimulate research in the field of digital pedagogy, develop a model of digital competencies of educators in the field of artificial intelligence and create conditions for their formation.
