Technology of Using Game Mechanics Based on Computer Role-playing Games
Abstract
In digital education, there is a tendency to use computer role-playing games along with traditional methods of obtaining knowledge. The pedagogical process is constantly enriched with new educational technologies. The issue of the effectiveness of the technology of using game mechanics based on computer role-playing games in the educational practice of basic and secondary schools remains debatable. Theoretical research methods are used in terms of studying the content analysis of text arrays for a meaningful interpretation of the results of the practice of game mechanics based on computer role-playing games, the method of analytical generalization of the opinions of domestic researchers on the problematic topic of gamification in general education is used. A classification of computer games by the functional results of their use is given. Positive aspects of using computer role-playing games in educational practice are revealed. The main characteristics of gamification in education (mechanics, aesthetics, social activity, emotional involvement, dynamics) are presented. Examples of game mechanics based on computer role-playing games in educational practice are given. The factors of using computer role-playing games that create a synergetic effect in the educational environment are listed. The algorithm of actions of the teacher on the use of game mechanics based on computer role-playing games in educational practice is modeled. Recommendations are presented on optimizing the educational process of senior classes by using game mechanics based on computer role-playing games for the implementation of tasks and content of educational programs.
