Testing as a Tool for Measuring Knowledge Assimilation and Personalization of Learning
Abstract
The article describes the increase in students' knowledge, assimilation of the material covered using the example of studying the discipline "Data Analysis", as well as issues related to the quality of the obtained data sets. The main objective of the study is to assess the level of change in students' knowledge within the academic course, based on the entrance and exit testing. To achieve this goal, the following tasks are solved: development and selection of tests to assess the initial and final level of knowledge, development of tests on topics covered in the course; collection, transformation and preparation of data for the study; selection of statistical methods and tools for conducting the study and presenting the results. The process of student learning is described and conclusions are made about its effectiveness based on the statistical tests conducted. The article discusses the use of educational web services, tools for preliminary data preparation for subsequent analysis. Conclusions are made about the possible dissemination of the described methods across higher education institutions.
