20 years of the inclusive volunteer project "Space of Joy"

In 2024, Saint Petersburg celebrates two important events: the 20th anniversary of the first inclusive volunteer project "Space of Joy" and the 10th anniversary of the Saint Petersburg inclusive volunteer movement "Open Environment."

The initiative of Galina Sharova, a psychologist with extensive experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders, disabilities, and their families, was supported by the Saint Petersburg Charitable Public Organization "Children’s Crisis Center." This led to the creation of the "Space of Joy" project. The project’s experience in counseling and corrective work, along with the goodwill of all participants, helped create a safe environment, supported by a specialist and the efforts of volunteers—ordinary, kind-hearted, and positive individuals.
