30 Years of the "RASsvet" School of the Federal Resource Center for Comprehensive Support of Children with ASD at Moscow State University of Psychology and Education: Pages of History and a Look into the Future

Abstract

The history of the Federal Resource Center of MSUPE dates back to 1994, when it was established as one of the first institutions in Moscow and Russia to provide comprehensive psychological, pedagogical, medical, and social assistance to children. In the early 1990s, V.N. Kasatkin, director of the Scientific and Medical Center "Diagnostics. Adaptation. Development" (DAR), operating on the premises of the school led by innovative educator Yevgeny Yamburg, was inspired by the idea of creating a large center in Moscow to support children struggling academically. After prolonged efforts, the Social and Pedagogical Rehabilitation Complex for Children and Adolescents was established. The complex was housed in a building constructed in the 1960s, originally designed as a boarding school, located on Arkhitektora Vlasova Street in the Cheryomushki district of Moscow.
