Abstract

The article considers the main stages of the animation phenomenon as a factor in the socialization of chil¬dren associated with the development of media technologies. Until the middle of the XX century the domi¬nating form of cartoon consumption was an 'out-of-home' one. In 1950s there was a shift to its domestic forms thanks to development of television, videorecording and, later, different digital technologies (DVD, Internet etc).
