Abstract

The author analyzes the problem of despair in frame of the philosophical-anthropological theory of personal relationships (St. Thomas Aquinas - M. Gogach). In this approch personal relationship as spiritual phenomenon is an opposition to personal emotions. State of despair is proposed to be seen as a result of destruction of such personal relationships and connections. The personal situation of despairation is studied on cases of alcohol and chemical addiction.
