Abstract

Context and relevance. Information-psychological resilience, self-control, and suggestibility are significant predictors of cadets’ resilience to destructive information-psychological influences. Insufficient development of these qualities increases the risk of unsafe behavior among adolescents in the digital environment. The theoretical basis of the study was the preventive-cultural model of ensuring information-psychological security. Objective: to develop a technology for enhancing cadets’ psychological resilience to destructive information-psychological influences. Hypothesis. The development of critical thinking, self-regulation skills, and cyber threat recognition influences the increase in information-psychological resilience and self-control, as well as the reduction of suggestibility, which contributes to enhancing cadets’ resilience to destructive information-psychological influences. Methods and materials. The study employed a field experimental design with an experimental group and a reference group. The study involved 111 10th-grade cadets from a cadet corps (M = 16,2, SD = 0,5, 100% male), 33 participants had below-average resilience (experimental group), while 78 had above-average resilience (reference group). The significance of predictors of resilience to destructive information-psychological influences was determined using an expert survey. A battery of questionnaires (rapid assessment methods for information-psychological resilience and personal resilience to sociocultural threats, the TSOB-4 self-regulation questionnaire, and the BSCS scale) was used to assess information-psychological resilience, self-control, and suggestibility. Results. After three weeks of the field experiment, the experimental group (the at-risk group) showed statistically significant increases in information-psychological resilience and self-control, while their scores approached those of the reference group. Self-control in the at-risk group exceeded the reference level. Changes in suggestibility were not statistically significant, although a positive trend was observed. Conclusions. The findings demonstrate that the implementation of psychological support programs aimed at developing critical thinking, self-regulation skills, and cyber threat recognition contributes to enhancing cadets’ psychological resilience to destructive information-psychological influences.
