Linguistic and cultural features of assessing a person’s appearance in Arabic and Russian

The article examines the phraseological units of the Arabic and Russian languages, reflecting the assessment of a person's appearance. The analysis of the linguistic material allows us to conclude that the national and cultural specifics of the perception of a person's appearance are most clearly manifested in phraseological units characterizing the portrait features of the face, as well as the proportions of the body. Universal images containing an assessment of appearance, as well as specific representations and stereotypes related to the subject, plant, zoonymic, religious, etc. are revealed. cultural codes that reflect the linguistic and cultural characteristics of the assessment of a person's appearance by native speakers of these languages.
