Abstract

The author proposes to distinguish between psychological, pedagogical, professional, family and personal counseling. Personal counseling refers to the type of psychological assistance addressed to those who have difficulties in self-realization: in achieving goals, meeting needs, making decisions. The author believes that effective work with children and adolescents is possible under certain conditions: knowledge of the characteristics of the social context of the development of children and adolescents, their cultural specifics of development.
