Abstract

The author considers the role of the symbol in the creative act. Various experiments conducted with students of grades III-IV showed that the representation of action as transforming his situation and conditions is a form of mediation in solving a creative problem. Such a representation is built through the transformation of real action into symbolic, which is a prerequisite for the success of mediation.
