Abstract

The article presents the main features of intellectual changes occurring in the age period from 12 to 15 years. Then the main problems that arise in connection with the next period (15-20 years) are considered; firstly, it is the differentiation of abilities and secondly, the degree of generalizability, and the development of cognitive structures acquired between 12 and 15 years. The author emphasizes that so far these problems are very important and poorly understood, which, in particular, is complicated by the difficulties in the study of young people over 15 years old, since they are already part of an organized society that limits and inhibits them.
