Abstract

A study of the characteristics of the emotional and cognitive components of the "I-concept" in patients with drug addiction is presented. The personality of a drug addict is considered from the point of view of acquiring a special pathological personal status that interferes with cure and rehabilitation. Of interest are data on the peculiarities of accepting oneself, conscious and unconscious attitude towards oneself and expectations from the future among drug addicts at the initial stage of rehabilitation. The work also presents the latest statistics on the scale and rate of drug addiction in Russia.
