Abstract

The article describes a research on the dynamics of psychological characteristics of students of different professions in the process of education. Two professions were chosen as models of various environmental conditions of education differing in the level of informational load and motor activity: physics and physical education. The authors show that environmental conditions of education affect the formation of personality characteristics and behaviour that are most distinct in the fourth year. They also describe individual psychological characteristics of students of different years and professions. It is stated that negative psychological conditions typical of physics students and personality characteristics of the latter lead to various neuroses, which is considered the evidence of maladaptation as well as the health risk. The obtained results can be used in organising the programmes for overcoming the psychological maladaptation, psychosomatic disorders, and in healthsaving support services at universities.
