Abstract

The article discusses cultural approach in management, which is one of the innovative areas in modern management theory and practice and advocates its use in education. The results of a study aimed at determining the relationship between the organizational culture type of the Department as a unit of the University and the professional plans of students, studying at this Department are presented. The possibilities of applying the cultural approach to analyze the organizational culture of a university as a condition for the professional identity formation and development of a professional position of a student are discussed. The concept of organizational paradigms by L. Constantine served as the theoretical and methodological base of this research. The results indicate that the cultural model with predominant features of an “open” organizational paradigm may be the most optimal for the development of adequate professional plans in students and positive attitude towards education and the profession. The issue of multidimensional research of the organizational culture in the modern universities is addressed in the article.
