The Current State and Prospects for the Development of the Psychological Services in Pedagogical Universities of Russia

Abstract

The article discusses the current state of psychological services in educational institutions of higher education subordinated to the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. To this end, a theoretical analysis of scientific publications devoted to the emergence of maladaptation in students was carried out, theoretical approaches to the study of maladaptation were considered, risk factors (both external and internal) for the occurrence of a state of maladaptation were determined. The categories of students who need special attention from the psychological service due to the high risk of vulnerability/development of maladjustment are described: students who, for various reasons, are subject to emotional imbalance, students who find themselves in a difficult social situation, as well as students who need special support beyond the competence of a teacher-psychologist (psychologist in the field of education). The article presents the results of a monitoring study of the current state of psychological service in pedagogical universities in Russia, conducted in November 2023 by the Federal Coordination Center for Providing Psychological Service in the Education System of the Russian Federation, Moscow State University of Psychology & Education. Based on these results, the key problems of the Service are formulated, and the further vector of development is determined.
