Aims and values of professional activity of American and Russian preschool educators

Abstract

The contribution describes the pilot comparative study of the perceptions of American and Russian kindergarten educators of aims and values of their professional activity. It presents the results which show substantial differences in the correlation between values and aims of activity, in placing of priorities, in perception of social situation between American and Russian educators. It identifies a principal rift between the values and aims of professional activity among Russian educators.
